Indiana, Indianapolis: The Malawi Project collects used medicine bottles (please remove identifying information first) for distribution to locals who otherwise have no way to transport their pills. This is not only a matter of convenience, but safety, especially when the pills might be around small children.
Editorial note: while projects like this are surely well-meant, I always think collecting things and shipping them to another continent doesn’t seem like a super sound environmental decision. Wouldn’t it make more sense to take the money people would have spent on postage and manufacture them locally? I realize that’s a daunting task, but I thought I’d throw it out there.
