Afghans, Knitted and Crocheted

Whether you’ve been given yet another afghan you just don’t have space for (Sorry, Grandma!), or you’re a relentless knitter or crocheter with no outlet for your fabulous items, consider donating to one of the places below. Dedicated to providing clothing and other items for disadvantaged infants, especially preemies, as well as burial ensembles. Needs: large preemie and newborn sleepers, gowns, going home outfits, receiving blankets, yarn, thread, fabric, and other sewing supplies.

They take all kinds of knitted items, as well as yarn and material.

New York, New YorkGuideposts Sweater Project. Collecting very specific sweaters, specifically knitted for this program to send to various national and international charities.

NationwideProject Linus
Accepts new, handmade washable blankets to give to seriously ill and traumatized children. They have an interactive map to find a local chapter near you. Needs: Quilts, afghans, receiving blankets.

Needs: Knitted, crocheted and sewn items for new babies.
